共赏山城深秋美，相聚重庆初冬时。由重庆市医学会主办、陆军军医大学西南医院老年科承办的“西南老年医学学术大会暨心血管修复与再生论坛”拟于2023年12月1-3日在重庆融汇丽笙酒店举行。我谨代表西南医院老年科及大会组委会向出席会议的国内外专家和同道表示诚挚的欢迎！

人口老龄化和老年疾病是全球面临的重大社会问题。我国人口老龄化形势严峻，党的二十大报告强调“实施积极应对人口老龄化国家战略”。我国老年医学面临前所未有的挑战和机遇。如何促进老年医学学科高质量发展，如何培养老年医学的多层次人才，如何进一步提高老年疾病的防治水平，如何围绕老年健康的关键科学问题产出高影响学术成果，都是学界面临的重大课题。

心血管疾病是全球和我国居民的首位死因，是严重影响老年健康的重大疾病。心血管衰老、修复与再生是备受关注的老年医学前沿方向，我国同道在该方向的临床技术和科学研究上不断取得新进展。

本次大会以“发展学科、促进合作、开拓创新”为主题，设置高峰论坛、基础论坛、心血管论坛、呼吸论坛、内分泌代谢论坛、介入论坛等板块，众多国内外著名专家将分享高质量的学术报告，共享最新理念和最新成果，共谋老年医学发展之道。

Welcome Letter

Dear experts and colleagues,

Welcome to the beautiful late autumn of Chongqing, where we gather to hold the " Southwest Conference on Geriatrics & Cardiovascular Repair and Regeneration (SWCG&CRR)". Hosted by the Chongqing Medical Association and organized by the Department of Geriatrics at the Southwest Hospital of Army Medical University, the conference is scheduled to take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Chongqing from December 1st to 3rd, 2023. On behalf of the Department of Geriatrics at the Southwest Hospital and the conference organizing committee, I would like to extend my sincere welcome to all the domestic and international experts and colleagues attending the conference.

Population aging and geriatric diseases are significant social issues faced globally. The aging population situation in our country is severe, highlighted by the 20th CPC National Congress report's emphasis on implementing a national strategy in response to population aging. Geriatric medicine in China is confronting unprecedented challenges and opportunities. How to promote the high-quality development of geriatric medicine as a discipline, how to cultivate multi-level talents in geriatric medicine, how to further improve the prevention and treatment of geriatric diseases, and how to generate high-impact academic achievements that address key scientific questions related to elderly health, are all major issues facing the academic community.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally and among Chinese residents. It is a major health issue seriously affecting the elderly. Cardiovascular aging, repair, and regeneration are the forefront areas of interest in geriatric medicine, where Chinese experts have continuously made new progress in clinical techniques and scientific research.

Under the theme of "Advancing the Discipline, Fostering Collaboration, and Exploring Innovations," this conference will include high-level forums, basic forums, cardiovascular forums, respiratory forums, endocrine metabolism forums, interventional forums, and other sections. Numerous renowned experts from home and abroad will share high-quality academic presentations, exchange the latest concepts and achievements, and jointly explore the path for the development of geriatric medicine.
